About Jan Power
Jan Power is the original owner and operator of the Jan Power's Farmers Markets (registered name). She has a trained background in medicine, theatre and food.
Grew up on a farm in Stanthorpe, schooled in Brisbane, trained as a cook in London, created and worked in her own Restaurant and catering company in Paddington.
Jan was the food editor of the Courier Mail and appeared on TV for many years and is still on ABC Radio. A consultant to the food industry on products, presentation and marketing, she is also a sought after humourous speaker on the national circuit.
She visits markets all over the world, and loves them so much that she began her own in Queensland in 1998.
